Currently
Eilat's Underwater Observatory Marine Park is
showcasing the unique and amazing world of the
Amazon region in South America.
The world of the Amazon is unmatched in richness,
colorfulness, strangeness and wonders. In the
midst of the rainforests and waters of the giant
river,
strange
and varied animals have developed over millions
of years. Each one developed a distinctive appearance
and way of adapting to survive in the unique Amazonian
environment.
They
thrive and grow in the wet season and survive
through the difficult dry season. In the Park's
aquarium there are many amazing Amazonian
animals: The
much-maligned piranha, the terrifying anaconda
snake, young alligators, and more.
All are examples of adaptation - using the protection
of numbers, camouflage, some extremely poisonous
and others with special hunting methods.
