Seascape Ma'alaea Restaurant Presents
"Old Man & the Sea" Concert
Friday, June 16, 2000 6:30 - 9 p.m.
Featuring the Maui Brown Ohana and the Hilo Brown Ohana
Performing together for the first time!
June 2000-MA'ALAEA, MAUI, HI--- Seascape Ma'alaea Restaurant presents the
3rd Annual Old Man & the Sea event on June 16, 6:30 - 9 p.m. at Maui Ocean
Center. The event which commemorates Father's Day weekend features the
contemporary island sounds of Maui's own Brown ohana (family), which
includes Ikaika, Kevin, and "Grandpa" Harry Brown, who recently was honored
with a Na Hoku Hanohano award for the haku mele (song) "Opio Opio."

The Browns have traditionally performed at Maui Ocean Center since its
opening in 1998. They're even more excited to perform this year because a
Brown ohana from Hilo, Hawaii--also long-time entertainers--have been
invited by Maui Ocean Center's Food & Beverage Manager Chad Andagan to
perform with them for the first time.

"This concert is going down in the Browns' history, whether we're related or
not, but that really doesn't matter because in Hawaii everyone seems to be
ohana," says Kevin Brown of "The Waiehu Sons" fame.

The Brown ohana from Hilo include "Grandpa" Bunny Brown of the "Hilo
Hawaiians" fame and his sons Boyson and Bobo. Kevin Brown attended the 20th
(and last) Big Island Brown's family reunion recently and said that it was
an emotionally charged performance. "Bunny's style is very similar to my dad
's and Boyson and Bobo's are similar to mine. And their children who are
Ikaika's age, still in highschool, are starting to carry on the Brown
tradition, too.

"Come and join us in this special event, and just maybe you might see my
father Harry and Bunny performing together," adds Kevin.

Admissions for the Old Man & the Sea concert are $15, preconcert; $18 on
concert day (June 16); and $13.50 for Aquarium members. The ticket stub will
also give concert goers a 15-percent discount on the Old Man & the Sea
brunch held at Seascape Ma'alaea Restaurant on Father's Day "All-you-can
eat" buffet on Sunday, June 18. Father's Day brunch includes roast prime rib
of beef, snow crab legs with drawn butter, and more. Reservations suggested.
